I just mounted up a Commander II on the front of my king... took a 200+ mile trip the next day, up through some long fast sweepers... had stockers on prior... [the rear still is a Lop, but has lots of tread left, so waiting to replace it..].. The tire is VERY responsive in the turns.. I love it so far... as I just picked up this bike with 15k miles used and have put 6k miles on it in the last 3 months, I have been happy with the wear on the rear so far.. and the front.. but decided to go with the Michellin (have friend that help me mount it up) to see how it does.. I like the cosmetics of the tire...
Question to those that have them mounted, what air pressure are you running in the front? we put 36 in it (also used Dyna beads.. very nice.. got rid of a 40mph coasting wobble the previous tire had).. I get a little bit of whine from the above 70.. thinking I may need to up air pressure a bit?
Had 2600 on mine till I found a nail. Just got mine back with new one sure am glad I bought the extended tire warranty. No charge to replace gotta love when one of those warranties pays off for a change.
I put a set on my Sporty 3 weeks ago. 21" skinny up front. I've always had trouble with tracking on graded pavement. These tires had no tracking problems! I loved them. I have since traded my Sporty and am getting these for my EG.
25000 mile treadwear for these things. Wow.
I got 11000 miles out of the rear stocker. Put a new h-d Dunlop on the back because of the great mileage I got from the original.
Now I have 3500 miles on the rear Dunlop and it's almost bald.
Sure 3000 of those miles are on my new 106 however the first 1000 were pretty easy miles. So this will be my last Dunlop.
The front is still the stocker though. It's still got quite a few miles left to go on it.

Thanks
You may need to check your front bearings. That could be the whine your hearing. Mine went out at 17 k.
Maybe because they claim you can almost double your miles with theses.......
That was comparing the C II to other tires... getting 10-12k.... if he got 20k on his OEM.. he did rather well.(asnd that claim was under "test conditions")
I swaped out my Dunlop Elite-3's...(which I've bragged on since they came out) If I get 15k I'll be happy
Tire wear...much like brake wear, depends on how we use them, and conditions. I'm in NC... roads here are like sandpaper... not maintained, and it's hot.
That all effects tire life
Why did I switch from OEM, just to try something new and the claim they had about extended wear and heard they are good in the rain. Here in the FL in the summer, it's always a wet and rainy ride home in the afternoon.
Ya, the 2 hour labor charge is a little steep, but been going to this local dealer since 2001 and they treat me good (and they are only a 15 minute ride from my house).
I have the commander II on the front only right now, waiting for the back to wear (E3) then will put one on the back, 07 UC running 40 psi on front wheel for who ever asked earlier.
