Mac,

On my Electra Glide I'm running with Corbin seats so they sit lower than stock Harley seats. If I was to damage my 6" windsheild, I would buy another one in a heart beat. I changed my windsheild and seat at the same time, and my wife couldn't tell the difference between the 12" or the 6". I like is so much, I threw away my 12". Go for it.......

I went with the Corbin Classic Solt, but I bought a Road King seat for my Electra Glide. The reason for buying a Road King seat is because it doesn't sit on the gas tank like the Electra Glide. You can purchase a tank dash board extension piece from Custom Chrome, and it gives you a very clean look. This seat is also available ia a 2" back, which gives you a little more leg room, and gets you off the gas tank. I rode my Electra Glide from Southern Calif to Sturgis and back, adveraging 450 to 500 miles a day and my butt wasn't sore. Unfortionately I'm no longer a kid, so comfort is important to me, and my wife really likes it. I just downloaded a picture of it in the photo gallery under " The Pigs Rides " to give you a better idea of what it looks like.

Pig,

Thanks for the reply and posting the pics. Where does the wife ride? Is that seat removable? I was looking at the Corbin Classic Solo but alas it is for RK. You're saying that you were able to get the RK saddle on our bike?

I was going to give Corbin a call tomorrow and see what they had to say on the matter. The seat didn't bother me too much today, (we rode about 140 miles, first long ride on this bike), and it was to kind of see what we needed to improve for the future.

I'm interested to hear what you did.

Thanks again,

Mac

Mac, where'd ya go, what'd ya see. 140 miles in Yuma means you have to get out into the open desert...I'll be looking in the Road Trip section. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Pig,

Went into the Harley shop and ordered the 6 1/2" smokey screen for my sled today. I opted for the chrome strip as well, I know that pococj loves chrome!

I'm headed out of town for a few weeks, so it should be in when I get back. Looking forward to putting this on the bike! Thanks for all your help.

In the mean time, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the seat...I'm going to stick with this one for now, and if it's not comfy after a few long rides I'll replace it.

Mac,

Good job on the windsheild, and yes the chrome strip gives it that finishing touch. The pic of my Electra Glide is with the riders seat only, the pillion bolts to the riders seat and the trunk rack or you can use a fender bolt. It fit on my bike with no problems, but you should talk to Corbin just to make sure. As soon as I finish modifying my Deuce, I'll ride it out to Phenox and buy you a cold beer. it would be a good break in ride for it.
