The mirrors are Harley, and relatively inexpensive. (I think around 59.00 but not sure).

I was wrong about them being stock on the 2005 SE Glide. I saw one today, and it had regular mirrors on it.

Regards,

Bill

Thanks for the reply, Bill. Not sure what I'm going to do with that.

Just drained the old checking account last night, I bought the Wild 1 Chubbies (for that pain in my back I've been talking about), and I also ordered a new Corbin seat...shipped today.

No more goodies for me until money in checking account gets back to satisfactory level.

Gosh darn addictive, expensive, blasted HABIT!

I used to dump money into my Vette...now I've got two money sumps!

Mac,

Hope the bars work for you. Keep us posted. I also hope you like the Corbin as well as I do. I have had one on every bike I have owned since 1995, and have not been disappointed.

When you change out the seat, you might consider taking that chrome handrail off. I really like chrome, unlike Skip, but I think that handrail makes things look cluttered, and even more so with the Corbin seat. Besides, if you take it off, the wife will have to hold you instead of the handrail.

Regards,

Bill

Bill,

Never thought about taking off those handrails. Bride doesn't use them anyway, and I don't particularly care for them either, though I haven't lost any sleep lookin' at 'em.

Do you have pics of yours with the seat and chrome handlebars removed?

TNW, I'm expecting great things from the Corbin, it's my second Corbin, and I loved my first. Takes about 500 miles to get it "just right", but even those first 500 are better than the stock seat IMHO.

Mac,

There are pictures on page 6 of the New Members Forum under "New From New Mexico." I would post another one, but my daughter is not here to help, and I just haven't got the picture thing down yet. It's embarassing to be so computer illiterate in this day and age.

I think you will find that if you don't take the handrail off, it with protrude above the Corbin seat, as the Corbin back is considerably lower than the factory seat.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bill

Mac,

Got the picture to post, but can't get it resized. Maybe you can do it for me.

Bill,

Edited the picture to make it more manageable. Just open your picture in whatever softeware you look at your pictures in and do a search in the Help for "resize". 640x480 works really well for this type stuff.

Thanks for posting the pic, I'm seeing what you're seeing now I think I'll be doing the same.

TNW...what is that grey looking thing on the right side of your fairing?

Mac,

The grey box is a Roady2 XM radio. Requires no hard wiring at all. The cigarette lighter plug-in is an FM modulator. The magnetic based antenna is mounted under the fairing on top of the radio. I had a power point plug put on the right side so that I didn't have to use the cigarette lighter plug for power.

On the left side in about the same place I have a holder for my cell phone. The cell phone charger plugs into the cigarette lighter port.

On the two windshield bags on the left and right I have black Marine Corps collar emblems.
On the center bag, I have a sterling silver coin struck with the Marine Corps Emblem. The triangle emblem on the fairing between the tach and the speedo is the emblem that designates this bike as a "Peace Officer's Special Edition."

On the ignition fork lock I have a Harley chrome cover that has a sterling silver and torquoise Kokopelli mounted on it.

All these things are just little touches that make the bike mine and no one else's. That and the riding is what it's all about as far as I'm concerned.

Regards,

Bill

Bill,

I'm a huge fan of XM, I've been talking with Sincecrazy, he has a real nice setup...nice job. We'll have to see what I finally come up with. I just bought a Corbin seat and new handlebars...so I need to slow down a little for a while.
