The stocker doesnt do much. How tall are you guys going? I have seen then waved ones. They dont look that great but are they functional? Im looking to buy a new one tomorrow. I was wondering what Height over stock is ideal. Sorry if that has been beatin to death. Looking for a fast reply with some pics as Im ready to pull the trigger.
I have a HD 6" & I'm 6' works pretty well for me but you can go 9"
Why don't you stop & checkout other owners and ask them to see what will work 4 you.
With windshields, one style or size doesnt fit all. One guy at 6 ft will want a 9" and another wants a 6". Some want to see way over & others right above the top or even through it. Generally, a majority want to look right above the top of the shield.
Pick the one thats best for your riding style ie: Shorter ones look better & taller ones work better.
If I can help in your decision, give me a call or email me ....
I am 5'11 and have an LRS 7" shield and I am looking approx 2" over the top it seems when riding relaxed in the saddle... That is right where I like it... I could have prob went with an 8" but I like a little more wind, plus the shorter the shield the better the look IMO.
Lots of windshield threads. I'm old and allergic to bees so I have all the deflectors and have settled on a 14" Clarke flattop screen. My bike came with a Klockwerks 6" that was next to useless under 55mph imho. But your experience will be different....
6'1 I like the 6" for it's looks, not functionality. Gotta give somewhere I suppose. When wearing a helmet I notice a lot of drag, No helmet-no problem.
