Write abbreviated directions on a small piece of paper and tape it to your dash or windshield using blue painters tape. Sticks strong enough to hold without damaging the surface. Works great

I believe the word you're looking for is "Frugal". I should know because every time my wife calls me a "cheap bastard", I have to remind her of the correct term.

That ain't right. Don't you know you are supposed to spend over $600.00, so you don't have to use the plastic bag?

A t bag magnetic map case. I write or print out directions cut to size, and laminate the sheets so its water proof. Use one card for each day, any changes use grease pencil on laminate sheet. On the tank I cut and fit window film tint so it doesn't mark up the gas tank. Peel and pitch when done doesn't leave any residue. Only use this method for trips but works good. Here is a copy of one of the sheets I laminated.

TURNPIKE TO BREEZEWOOD EXIT 161 95 MI
BREEZEWOOD EXIT TO I 70 e
I 70 e to 522 s 24 MI
522s to 37s (towards Hancock/Winchester) 40 MI
37s to 81s (towards Roanoke) 10 Mi
81s to 66 e (towards Front Royal/ Washington) 10Mi
66 e to 340 s ( into Front Royal ) 15Mi
I highlight the route numbers so its easier to follow. and the mileage gives me an idea where I'm at and when the turn is coming up.

Post-It Notes make some types that 1). Have adhesive (still removable though) over entire back surface instead of just one edge; 2) have a slightly more aggressive backing. Work like a charm - just stick one of them on your tank or riser cover and you're good to go

TBag magnetic map case. Cheap and easily viewable window to put in directions or maps. I used this for lots of rides, including multiple IBA rides and it never failed, fell off, scratched the paint etc. the only issue was that, while rain would not penetrate too much, a little water may get into the map case. On a hot day that turns to steam, which fogs the window and dampens your papers. Only happened to me a couple times, wipe off once and no recurrence so not a big deal.

I hate GPS, ridden with several guys when their gps garbage. had us running in circles, disregarding common sense or lines on a map. Never again.

here's suggestion:

- google map your trip, make some mental notes
- head in the general direction you're going...i found the hard way, to stop for gas around 200 miles...my low fuel light gauge stopped working...
- when you stop for gas, think about the mental notes you took or ask for directions...
- keep ridin'
