I bought a Kuryaykn trailer relay kit to wire up the bike for a trailer connector. I bought a harness from J&P that plugs in between the connector below the seat on my FLHTI. I am going to wire up the bike for a round 5 pin connector. I have not bought a trailer yet, but was going to borrow a friend of mine. The trailer is set up for a 4 wire flat connector. Can I make a 4 flat to 5 round adapter to fit between the bike and trailer connector and expect everything to work correctly? Thanks.
This is a very good question, and I'll wait for an answer with you if you don't mind.
I just bought a Krome Werks hitch on Ebay. It came with a round socket built on, but no wires at all. I'd like to be able to switch easily from my cargo trlr to my camper without rewiring, as I tow them intermittently with my truck as well as the bike.

Yes. You'll have to loose the 5th connection which will likely be acc power (on cage connectors this 5th could also be back up light). The job will be easier if you have a multimeter or some other way of testing continuity. Don't shrink wrap anything until all the connections work. make sure to use dielectric grease on the connectors. Alternatively, almost any auto parts store, rv store, and some walmarts will have ready made adaptors for just a few bucks.
Joannes car has a 5 pin small round trailer outlet and my truck has a large round 7 pin outlet, Part source had ready made adaptors to flat 4 pin trailer leads for less than 10 bucks apiece.
