My 2010 Ultra Limited runs so hot that it has literally burned holes in my pants when the wind whipped them onto the pipe where the cat is located. My wife also can barely stand riding because her right leg gets so hot it turns reddish purple from a 40 minute ride. So...
I called Fuel Moto today and spent 15 minutes listening to great advice on a package that would cool the bike down and boost power and improve sound a bit too. I left pretty sure I wanted V&H dual dressers and that's what I ended up with, plus the Arlen Ness Big Sucker, Power Commander V pre-programmed for my set-up, and 4" Fuel Moto slash up pipes. I can't wait to get the parts later this week. Dealing with Fuel Moto was a great experience and I feel I got an incredible deal on the price.
It already has an oil cooler and I'm running synthetic. I can't believe how hot it runs. I guess the cat must be extra thick on my headpipe and the mapping must be extra lean. All of that will be corrected this weekend!
I never realized how hot my bike was until I bought another exhaust, I don't miss that CAT at all, i went with a different set up, but you should be happy with your decision.
