The only reason I ask is so I do away with that damn cartridge. The thing looks like a pain in the *** to service per the maintenance manual. So I was thinking that while I was removing and replacing the fork lowers with chrome sliders I would get rid of it. I know all of the baggers after 05 have just the springs and no cartridge. Maybe I could just put in a set from an 06 or 07 bagger, the forks are the same except for the cartridge of course.
I'm gonna do the same thing. I have an 05 E-glide with the left cartridge also. Must not have been that good of a set up cause the moco went back to the old faithful style in 06. Pretty sure any Twin-cam Touring legs will go right on an 05. I'm also gonna make sure I re-fill with SE-Fork oil. The xtra weight of the oil is supposed to improve the front end feel a little.....Joe Mac
I don't know anything about a cartridge, but I have put Progressive fork springs in many bikes...........it's worth it. Better front end performance, less bottoming out, won't sag from age or trailering. Best bang for the buck for the front. My '98 RG loves them.
i changed oil too belray 10 wegt
adding 11.1 ounces each
had son bounce on forks as i added oil to left leg
tiny hole and cavirity to get oil in there
dam bike still bottoms out on aprons and any slight up movement in road
i think i need help any idea s ?
