Need advice on heat issue for cat convert
Andy, there is a high probability your bike doesn't have a CAT.
Make sure that the right side lower fairing vent is all the way open.....
Funny story , we were at a poker run or something , new harley rider was complaining about the heat (July) on his new Ultra , I reached down and opened both vents , poor guy didn't know what they were for.
I did an article on trimming the vents for more airflow in the summer , which helped a bunch with heat.
Here's a few pics of the mod.

This is closed with the vent trimmed.

This is to show you haw far it can be trimmed back safely.

This you can use for comparison to your stock setup.
The vents can be trimmed back to the horizontal support safely , just leave enough at the top for the stabilizer pin to be effective.
It makes quite a bit of difference in the open position , I used to just remove the vents in the summer , but I ride in the rain quite a bit , so the closed position is nearly as good as stock.
We don't have the heat you guys get in Mississippi up here in New York , so I feel your pain on the heat issue.
Good luck , and ride the heck out of that bike , I love mine.
And yes , I ride more than I clean the bike , sorry about the bugs.
Mick
