i put the comfort fit bag guards on for my wife. shes 5'4".
see how they angle town at the outer edge?

Thanks to all that replied to my posting. I found something that I think will resolve my issues completely. I went with this option which will remove the saddlebag guards entirely.

that is another option, if you do that, I would consider mounting your bags with u nuts and bolts.

I eliminated mine for that same reason. But I used Rick Doss bars from Drag Specialities. Cost about 40$

Another thing that might help is moving to tour pack to the foward position if it is not there already.

What would worry me about eliminating the bag guard is when you have your simple lay over drop, your saddle bags will be crunched up pretty good. I layed my RK over on the guards and you can see no damage. I looked how close everything else was and the bags were just off the pavement.
