Default Another Sears Red Jack Thread

I know a Pit Bull is a lot better jack and may end up getting one. Does anybody know where to get a replacement hydraulic jack for the Sears motorcycle lift. Cannot find any reference on the Sears parts website. Need to do the SE Compensator install and cylinder is leaking bad.

I had a Sears red lift that started leaking after I had had it just over a year. Went to Sears to see if they would help me out since it was just a couple months out of warranty. No luck. No problem, I'll just replace the bottle jack itself. They couldn't find a replacement part # for just the bottle jack. I said you've got to be kidding me, you seel the damn jack yet can't get parts for them or at least point me somewhere to get them when I need them. Nope, can't help you. The devious wheels in my head start to turn as I try to figure out how I am going to solve this since there is always more than one way to skin a cat. Light bulb in head comes on. No problem. I just wait a couple weeks, go buy a new one. Take it home and unpackage it and pack the leaking one back it the box. Wait a couple more weeks and return it with receipt for a refund.
"This damn thing leaks.'
"I'm sorry, let me get you a replacement."
"No thanks. Just give me my money back."

Sell me a PoS and then be zero help in righting the situation. I WILL find a way to remedy the problem myself.

I know this probably wasn't the right thing to do but a man has to resort to underhanded tactics once in a while.

I must have one built on a Wednesday then... had mine over 2 years and it still pumps like a champ. Although one time I left the bike up over night and when I came out it was on the jiffy... why I put the jiffy out that time I have no clue, but the Jiffy goes down no matter what. Haven't had a problem since then... [knock on wood]

I've had the Sears "Yellow" jack for almost five years now and still love it. Handles my Ultra no problem, easy to use.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the bottle jack just a standard 1.5T unit? If so - just go to the nearest auto part store, or Wal Mart & replace it. I know our J&S jack has Chinese 1.5T bottle jack which is bolt on/off...

Its often not that simple - they look the same and have the same specs, but often dont have the holes in the right place.

J&S is shipping with a newer/different - and they claim better bottle jack - not sure if it will fit the Sears, but maybe worth contacting them to see if they will sell one to you

I have had a Sears for two years. Bottle still OK. Don't like the cheap metal used in it's construction. Had a J&S years ago, solid product.

I have had the sears red Jack for 9 yrs. this coming fall. My EG sits up in the air in the back of my garage all winter. Never had a leak yet but always leave the Jiffy extended and use the metal support bracket in place. Get a little sag over the winter but the support brackets hold fine.

Just buy another bottle jack and make it fit.
