Default Audio questions from a newbie...

Hello all...I plan on adding the popular Rockford Fosgate 2 channel amplifier (300.2 i believe?) to my 09 Ultra Classic Tri-glide.Over the past few weeks i have tried to get as much info from here as possible.I may have overlooked some notes here and there,so i thought i would finally join on here and ask.Sorry if this turns out to be a long read.I am familiar with aftermarket audio systems through years of doing my own installations in cars,so im not going into this completely blind. However,I am not a "know it all" with a big head either, theres always room to learn! I read on here somewhere you must have the HK stereo "flashed" in order to keep the fader operative following an amplifier installation. In my application,i plan on running the fairing speakers along with the lower speakers(both aftermarket with this install) on the front channel,(in parallel)while keeping the rear speakers running on their existing rear channel HK output. Will i still be required to have the HK unit "flashed"? I actually prefer all the sound from the front, the only time i hear the rear speakers is when i turn my head. Thanks in advance for any help or additional input to all.I have learned a lot from this site, and plan on staying for years to come!! I love my (new to me) Harley!!

Hi Dalenute3,

Welcome from Cleveland, OH. To answer your question no you should not have to have the radio flashed.

with your setup i would use the 4 channel ampit would allow u to use the gain to balance between the uppers and lowers,u can still use the front hk output to run all 4 amp channels and the fader will still work for the 4 front -and 2 rear, however with the amp on 4 fronts u will not hear the rears much if any.

ya i dont think your ever going to hear the rear speakers aging if you just put an amp on the fronts LOL.
good choice & worth the money.
& like said before you wont need to flash the HK.
