What kind of price difference are we talking about? I'm so cheap I'll just paint mine black. Photo c

SOME shields allow you to use Rain-X on them (LRS, Clearview are two that come to mind), but you've heard correctly- the plastic windshields aren't supposed to have Rain-X applied to them.

As for my vote: photochromatic!

Photocrhromatic. I used to use rain-x on my car windshields but it doesn't help with bugs. I now use Rejex on the whole bike and my cars, including the windshields. Makes cleanup easy.

I'd go for the rain-x coating.

Well, I am sorry but I am thinking both photo-chromatic & permanent Rain-X :-)

If there is no technical reason other than the cost I think people would be willing to pay for it — to a point.

The Photocrhromatic would be great right up to the time I'd get caught in the rain which seems to happen a lot, then Id trade it in a cold hard minute for for the Rain-X coating so I'm going to have to go with the Rain-X.

PS
Have had the flat top for almost two months now and it a great Shield.
