Default 2007 Street Glide

I just upgraded from a 2005 Sportster XLC1200 which was great for around town but not great for long rides. The 2007 Street Glide is a great bike but I am only 5.4 and have problems getting flat footed on the bike. I really do not want to lower the bike more; so the harley dealer suggested new seats. The dealer will order them for me but will not take them back if it does not work out. Any suggestions on how to lower the bike about 1/2 inch....
Thanks

check this out:

BadX does this

I've been upolstering for 20 years now and over the past two years have been modding stock seats to ride as good if not better than most after market seats out there. The big misconception is more foam is better or gel pads are better...That is BS. It's not how much foam or if you have a gel pad but its the shape of the seat itself. I've done Street Glides, Road Kings, Sportsters, Dyna's and countless metrics. By far the HD seats are the best seats stock and better made than the others. The only thing is they take a little more time to mod so the mod cost is a little more but still well below buying a after market seat. I can lower you, move you back or a combination of both. Here is a picture of my modded stock SG seat that I lowered my riding height 3 1/2"s and moved me back 1". You can PM me for more details and specific seat mod your interested in. Congratulations on the new Street Glide..... If you are only talking about a half inch, I'd buy a different pair of boots with a thicker sole.

Corbin seats usually lower you more than 1/2" over stock, about 2" in the case of my '96 RK, but I can't say for the SG. My present Mustang solo (79100) on my '07 SG lowered me a bit over stock, but how much would be hard to quantify. At 5' 10" I can easily flatfoot when stopped. If you only need 1/2", either of these aftermarket seats would likely do the job. The Mustang is much less expensive, and I'm very impressed with mine after one month's use.

Try to find a SG with either of these seats installed and try it out, that is after getting permission from the owner.

I have a friend that stands about 5'5' and he rides a RG. He went with the Legends air suspension system for lowering the bike while stopped and parking. He raises it to stock height when riding. According to him he loves it; it works out great for him. It's a bit pricey but there are other similar products out there.

You should be able to get at least 1/4", maybe a 1/2" could be gotten with putting a 1" lowering kit on the front. the front out of the factory is stock height with the electraglides, the rear only is dropped 1". So when you drop the front as well it should get you alot closer to what you are looking for. BTW Congrats on the new ride.

Thanks everyone; I have to pick up the bike next month from Liberty Harley. The bike was my present to myself for finishing a two year divorce (thus the reason for the sportster in the first place ). when she announced the divorce; I got the bike! Never fell so many times in that first month but always saved the bike! No dings or scratches! I guess I should have learned to ride when I was a kid instead of near 50!

The new ride is:
2007 FLHX StreetGlide
Black Cherry

I would have to say that I need to lower between 1/2 and 1 inch. I would feel safer to be flat footed and not lower the bike. I like the suggestion on the seat changes and the lift in the boots. Allen, I like what you did to that seat to lower it 3 inches and push it forward one inch. Has anyone else on the board used Allen??

Hollywood; I like the legends idea too!! ICLICK; hopefully mustang has a twoseater as I purchased a back rest.

Thanks for all the advice
more suggestions would be appreciated too
