Default Shocks

Installed a set of progressive 440's on my 08 street glide. Put about 200 plus miles ongoing them ,set at 2 clicks preload. I have to say it is a night and day difference in ride quality over the stock shocks.

Yes, the stock suspension sucks! Pretty sad that! Enjoy!

I installed the 12" with the standard spring. My next step is to have standard length progressive monotubes installed up front.

what does the difference feel like. I know it is subjective. But can you give a few examples before/after to explain?

The best way i can explain it is,for me it seems to really smooth out the small bumps and the big bumps are not near as harsh. Also the rear of the bike seems to me like it tracks a little truer. The effects from the bumps doen't transfer through the chassis as much either. I hope that helps, it's the best way i can explain it.

I have about 500 miles on my new HD Premium Shocks and am very impressed! Got them for $400 on a 20% off sale. The difference 2 up is even more dramatic over stock. My daughter was blown away by the difference!

Thanks for the report.
BTW how much do you weigh ? I ride solo only 185 lbs and Progressive tells me the 412 with standard spring would give me a much smoother ride then the stock Harley junk shocks. 440 are about 2 times more then the 412 but if they are worth it I wold go that way.

Default Put Progressive 412s on RK

Had stock shocks on my 08RK since when I bought it new. Didnt have too many complaints. Last week (~27K) left shock started to leak badly. Replacement time. Shopped and read alot. Finally settled for Progressive 412s with standard springs. Bought them from DirectHarleyParts.com. Great folks there and best price I could find with free shipping. Went with 12.5 inch which is only 1/2 inch less than stock. It was a compromise. Would have liked to go all the way down to the 12 inch SG length but was afraid I would regret it if I lost too much lean angle. Would have really preferred 440s or 940s but they cost twice as much or more.
First ride ~200 miles today. Two up (~300lbs total), and book air pressures in tires. Here is what I think: Tried click one and click two. For now, settled on click three (of five). Ride quality seems a bit better than stock but I am not sure if it really is or I just wanted it to be. Was on roads where the bumps and ridges are well known to me. I think it is a bit smoother and less jarring. But not dramatically so. May try click #4 next time. The 1/2 inch lowering is noticable and welcomed. (I am 5'7"). I was able to flat foot before but the extra little 1/2 inch is nice. Wonder if I should have went the full inch. I think if I could have justified the double cost I would have gone 440 or 940 for sure. But for what I paid I am reasonable happy but not seeing giant improvement. Except it is important to note that they are not leaking

At Thunder Beach in Panama City Beach this spring I talked with the progressive rep there and he said the 940's work best with the EG with the added weight of the tourpak. I put them on last fall and have no regrets at all
