I got the Garmin 660 for Christmas last year and love it. Like everyone has mentioned, if money isn't an option its worth every penny. Waterproof, mounts nicely on the bike, and you can draw up your own maps on your computer.

Comes with software to load on your computer, then you can map out where you want to go and where you want to stop. Load the routes into your GPS and off you go. Used it on a four day trip and loved it.

The only thing I disliked about it was the cable lengths where to long and there isn't a way to quickly take the mounting bracket off the bike. Ended up cutting the main power cable and putting connectors on both ends so I could plug/unplug the unit when not using it.

I just got a Nuvi 3760lmt and I have to say the little I've used it, It Rocks. Maybe not the best for the bike because it isn't waterproof but for the $198 I paid I can deal with a baggie.

For my old bike I bought a Garmin at Costco for $200 and the RAM mount, worked like a charm. Screen was 5 inches, and it worked through gloves. It isn't waterproof, but it sat behind a windscreen and never got terribly wet. When there was a threat of downpour I put a ziplock bag over it and zipped it in, no problems. 5 inch screen was the smallest I wanted to go... it is sized perfectly for quick glances down without taking your eyes off the road for too long.

Rather than spend a ton of money on one unit, I spent a fraction of the cost. Figured if it was stolen or broken it would still be cheaper to replace than buy one of the more expensive units.

Haven't set it up on the SG yet.

So is the 600 series but they're still available on ebay. And they have the audio out jack, Trip planner and mp3 player. We have thousands of songs and dozens of books integrated to our Navi voice guidance. Some of the best 150 dollars ever spent on our bike. 42,000 miles and lots of rain and still going strong

Zumo 660.
I like sattilite radio. But XM pissed me off… long story.

Gps is pretty awesome. I have the kyrakyn fuel door mount. I like it that it is centered on the motorcycle. The wires are a little bit of a pain at full ups but I got used to it...

Good luck!!

Default Do NOT buy a 600 series ZUMO

Firstly - I would say - it depends on where else you're going to use it.
I use a GPSMap76CSX on my bike, in my truck and to carry with me when I'm in the bush (mostly for hunting).. I'm very happy with it.
It uses AA batteries, rather than an internal battery... BIG bonus when I'm in a hunt camp with NO Hydro... I take 6-8 batteries and I'm good for 2 weeks. (I use rechargeable AA's)

BUT if all you want is a GPS for the bike, and cost is not a consideration then ********DO NOT buy a 600 series ZUMO********....

I was at Americade, and the Garmin booth was showing the 600 series replacement - the Zumo 350LM (avail. 3rd quarter 2012)
According to the person working the booth (who claimed to be a Garmin engineer who worked on the Montana and now the 350)... it is a total upgrade to the 600 series...
Faster processor, better everything... new software... etc.
and it's only supposed to be $50 over the 665...(https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135&pID=107979)
(of course the price for the 600's will definitely be going down in the near future, if you want to pick one up cheaper than they are now)

So like I said originally - it totally depends on what you want it to do and what you expect from it...

Me personally, for my needs, if I were buying today - I would buy the Montana...

+1 on a NUVI 550. Here is how I mounted mine.

One extra that I like with the 550 is that it has a "Scooter" mode that will route you on side roads rather than main highways.

Have had my zumo 660 a couple years and has been through countless storms. One of the many cool features I like is syncing with my Android letting me know I have an incoming call. It does everything I need it to do. Just looked at their site and they have a new zumo 350LM with lifetime map updates.
