Today I was on Fort Hood and riding my bike. I had my backrest and the luggage rack on it becuase I am PCSing in a couple days and dont want it to get mixed into the stuff that has to be packed up by movers. I go inside to get a clearance stamp from fiance and when I come back out, my luggage rack is gone. On a Military base where everyone is alike we all have to trust our brothers and it got STOLEN. The worse part is when I parked there was a black street glide with a yellow and green get back whip parked next to me. When I came back the bike was gone too?
The Army has changed sooooo much over the years....don't even get me started. I would check all the watering holes for that bike, who knows maybe it will have a rack on it now.
Man that really sucks! I assume you're talking about a detachable rack and not a fixed one. If so, if you're not aware of it HD does sell a lockable latch for detachables:
They have black ones too although I can't seem to find it on their site. One of the latches on my backrest broke and I replaced it with the black locking version. You can leave it unlocked and it still latches/ unlatches, or you can push the little button in to lock it and then it's secure. Comes with an extended key (plus extra) to unlock and it's very easy to do so.

Not too bright to steal when you have something that identifies your bike.
Guessing you also ride a touring bike + the rack didn't have lock option. Definitely a sucky deal & might want to keep checking the lot for that FLHX. If they're brave enough to jack something off someone's bike...let's hope they're dumb enough to put it on & ride around the same area.
