Took a short ride the other day in shorts after I changed my fork oil. Never had done that before. It was actually very comfortable. Probably will never do it again but I now understand why people do it. Very comfy, but very dangerous too.

It was actually very comfortable.

Yep, it is.

My usual outfit is shorts, deck shoes, t-shirt, and no helmet.

If it gets cold enough to require a jacket, it's usually too cold for me to ride.

Glad to hear you're alright. Yep, it was bonehead thing to do but as they say, what doesn't kill you, will often make you stronger (and smarter).

I got an over 100 degree rule ... shorts with boots. Got to be pretty damn hot out.

After you get burned the first time you pay attention ....

I see guys (and chicks) everyday with shorts on ... it actually looks kind of dumb, unless you are a hot babe in hot pants.

The short ride would have been shorter if you got the short end of the stick and took a short fall with your shorts on during the short ride.

I've been riding with shorts for a couple years now, and do whenever I can with the weather. I figure a pair of jeans is not gonna save your *** if you go down anyway and most people will ride with a T-shirt without any concern for their arms , so why not your legs. You do have to watch out for the pipes , since the jeans would give you a little help there. Chris

Hey, I have a scar in the same place as the one you are gonna have. Got it the only time I rode in shorts and tennis shoes. To be honest, I was actually hotter with the shorts while riding because my legs had no protection from the sun and the engine....just my .02 ...
