Harley leather is made in Pakistan! In the early 80's I bought a jacket, made here in the USA by Brooks.HD no longer use's Brook's,I guess it is cheaper to buy from oversea's and use monkey leather.Brook's are still in business, and are,to my knowledge, the only people in this country making vest and jacket's.If I am wrong,I would like to know about it.
I won't buy HD leather goods - quality seems OK, but the vest I bought several years ago is made in China and I am now trying to buy American products if possible. Also, as others have said, they are way overpriced for something HD probably paid very little for because it was made in overseas.
There are a few American leather companies out there and they make very good products. Fox Creek is one and Churchill Glove company another. Many more for sure, just can't think of any at the moment...
I agree with most of the people here. In general HD clothing is well made / high quality and very expensive!
My leather HD jacket is extremely heavy duty and well made. Without a doubt it it the best leather jacket I have ever owned. It is also the most expensive!
Is it worth it? Well thats up to you. I am not sure my jacket was worth $450, but then again I paid $270 on clearance.
Hint - I always check out the clearance racks at every dealer that I go to, you never know what you will find....
