This is one I like because it don't change the angel of the shock. I got a set and put them on and they look like a nice piece. But they made my saddlebags rub against my stock shocks.
LA tech just caled me and said this is not normal. they have been very nice to deal with and he suggested that maybe I could cut some of the rubber boot off just a little to get the bags back on, I'm not to nuts about that idea.
They tell me I'm the only one with this problem on both my bags, it's all stock parts, I just don't get it.
Would help if any one else had this happen. Seems like not to long ago some one on here mentioned this on his bike.
I would love to get this kit to work if I can...Thanks

I have it on my '10 electra glide and I noticed small rubbing on saddlebags but this doesn't bother me at all.It happens when I ride 2up and if I hit deep hole or bump. Nice riding no problems and like you said doesn't change any geometry of the bike.

I've got the LA Choppers 1" lowering kit on my 2004 Road King. I also have Ohlins 3-3 shocks. I had to space the shocks out a little further than provided for in the kit (to clear the kit mounts, at the bottom of the shocks). I bought grade 8 bolts that were 1/2" longer than the kit-bolts to accommodate the wider spacers. I also spaced the bags out to clear the shocks, about 1/2". I have aftermarket (stretched) hard-bags, so they might fit a little different than the stock bags. I'm satisfied with the kit. Point being, if you can space things properly, the kit will give you the full travel of a 13" shock, but with a slightly lowered stance.

Thanks Reaper. Although I haven't taken delivery of my 2013 Ultra yet, I was considering this same lowering kit for the reasons you stated. Glad to hear you made it work. Heave you had an opportunity to road test it solo and 2-up?

Curious, though, How much do you weigh? How much does your OL weigh? Reason for asking is the fender clearance issue that is raised, when on the road.

Yes I have and with 2 up it is allot better than the sg shocks, Stay with your 13" shocks and make the L.A. kit work, you really don't want bags rubbing either I can see prolly 1/8th to 3/16 between shock rubbers and bags......I am 5'7" and my feet are flat on the ground and do not bottom out even 2 up, but with sg shocks I bottom'd out with 2 up only... I have access to a machine shop so I might machine these L.A. Chopper mounts to fit even better being they wont do anything about it...

I just installed the LA Choppers kit on my 2011 FLHX. It came with 4 extra bolts and 4 spacers. It seems that the bolts and spacers can be used for the front bag mounts, but the rear mounts don't use a bolt that is near the size of the bolts provided. also, the rear mount bar goes behind the strut cover. The kit instructions say some people may need to use spacers for the bags, but there is no specific mention of how to use the bolts/spacers provided.

I just came back in from the garage... Was trying to install this kit on my 2011 Road King. The kit looks like a quality piece but I gotta tell you that the fitment is really tight. It would have definitely required that i shim the bags out to clear the shocks but the real problem i encountered is that there was no way the shocks would clear the exhaust with the kit installed. Im running the Fuel Moto Jackpot 4 1/2 inch mufflers which are larger diameter than stock so thats on me but I'd think it would be tight even with the stock mufflers... Anyway just a word of warning - if you're running larger than stock diameter exhaust this kit will not fit.

Anybody want to buy mine just send me a PM... Brand new, never used

2012 Street Glide running into the same problem.....

The LA Choppers kit includes (4) 1/4" bolts and (4) small spacers. At first I thought these were just extra hardware included for another model UNTIL I mounted the saddlebag and realized both middle bottom inner saddlebags touch/rub both lower rear shock boots. After scratching my little brain a bit I knew Houston had a problem! After staring at the dilemma for a few minutes I knew some mods needed to be done! By accessing the problem It looked like only two bolts and spacers can be used, for both L&R front top slide pin saddlebag brackets in order to move them both out the small spacer width giving enough clearance. Now that that was settled, I have NO CLUE where the "2 OTHER 1/4" bolts & 2 spacers GO!!! After adding the washers I still had the both other L&R side rear saddlebag slide pin mounts to deal with and they are fix mounted to the rear of the saddlebag support!!! With a little hesitation Ive decided to use an adjustable wrench opened enough to allow a firm grip so I can ever so slightly pull and bent the mount outward just enough to even the front and rear slide pin mounts without hacking anything to badly (trust me, I cringed the whole time)

So as of now, with the ORIGINAL 2 bolts & spacers included in place & some bending, I used some flat washers to space out the lower front saddlebag support and built the top center bolt out a bit. Finally, Now i see daylight between the shock boot and bottom saddlebag as it should be so im hoping this may just work.

MY ONLY FEAR is that the rear passenger backrest bracket isn't in the same location! Hoping it stayed the same width knowing I never spaced out the chrome mount/bracket or the chrome strut cover. But how the center both was spaced, it cant see behind the chrome strut cover if its sitting flush where its originally supposed to be or if its out a bit.

I wont know until this weekend when I dig the rear backrest out of the shed. Ill keep you posted.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SEND ME BETTER PHOTOS OF WHAT YOU DID OR MAYBE A DESCRIPTION?

Thanks in advance. Hopefully we can help with the issue so others don't have to go through it.

I just tried to put these lowering blocks on tonight and had the same problem. The bottom of the shock isn't even allowing me to put my saddle bags on. Has anyone found a solution yet or should I just buy the 12" shocks?
