What part of your bagger hits the ground first when you scrape it in a hard turn?
On my '05 FLHTCUI in a right turn I thought my rider's floorboard hit first, but on inspection its not the floorboard but the rear floorboard mounting bracket that's hitting the ground. That's a solid piece of metal and it won't move out of the way like the floorboard would. Gives me some pause about dragging the bike in a turn. I've just moved the right floorboard and its mounting brackets up as high as they'll go to see if I can get the floorboard to hit first. I'd like a little warning before something solid on the bike hits the ground in a turn.
On a left turn it looks as if the left floorboard is hitting the ground just before the rear mounting bracket. Both show signs of scraping.
I am VERY careful about hard turns on my bike. It was on a right turn that I scraped and never bothered to look wierd I assumed it was the floorboard but It gave me no wanring at all the rear of the bike started to come off the ground. I straightened her up a bit and continued through. But the thought about sliding through an intersection was not to settling for me..... I prefer to touch my knee as a guide while riding.
On my Ultra and Heritage both it's the rider floorboards first on both sides.
But once last summer I hit left floorboard, left engine guard, front fender tip, and left upper fairing all pretty much simultaniously. [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
I've yet to scrape anything on my RKC. I guess I'm getting old. But I will say that I can lean this baby over way more than my FXST every could. I was always scraping the lower (front) exhaust pipe on the right side with that thing. My RKC goes over so much that I start to get worried about the sidewall grip before I scrape anything.

Mine hits on tight lefters before righters... left turns are "stronger" for me. Have not climbed down to see where I am laying frame from.
Give it time, seems easier and easier to drag hard parts...
