My aluminum tank console is getting trashed. I noticed that when Plugging in the helmet/ intercom comunication plug I have scratched and gouged up the center piece of the console.
I searched for an aftermarket replacement, thinking there would be something better than the black plastic and thin/soft aluminum.
I find nothing for the Ultra with comm. plug.
There are many for other models but not for 2010 ultra.
Has anybody found a replacement or upgrade?

Heres something you might try. Buy a new center piece and pick up a small amount of 3-M paint protection film on Ebay or from your local body shop. Many shops will give you a small piece if your a customer. Apply the film and you should be good to go. I use the stuff on many areas of my bike subject to scratching or road damage such as the lower frame rails to protect against stone damge on my gravel road and on my air cleaner cover, to prevent scratches from my leg rubbing on it. If it does get beat up, such as my frame rail film does, just change it out. The surface underneath still looks new. It takes a lot of abuse. I only need to change the frame rail film every 3 or more years at the most. And I have to tell you, the gravel road I live on beats everything to hell.
Thanks for the tip.
I'll have to go that route because aftermarket parts are just not available according to my searches.
I'll have to search for some 3m or similar product, I have used some of the simulated carbon fiber film on other bikes in the past ,so that may work just fine.
