Headed out for a 2 week trip this coming Saturday and stumbled across this website where you can build a customizable packing checklist so I thought I would share. http://micapeak.com/checklists/mclist.html
I guess the challenge is to pack what we need and no more....all to avoid the temptation of pulling a trailer.....which is a drag and looks like a Goldwinger.
If you are a HOG member, you get basic road side assistance.
the $20 upgrade takes that to unlimited mileage towing to nearest dealer--- well worth it.
I am often a camper, I figured out that I need no cooking gear other than a can opener- easier to find food local, than to haul cooking stuff and clean up etc.
KOA has laundry, wifi, showers, coffee in the morning
A trick I've used on long trips is to clean out your dresser when packing. Take the skivvies you probably need to throw out anyway, wear 'em and at the end of the day trash them. If you're a blood donor get rid of the goofy 'donate blood' t-shirts. Same with that group of mismatched sock the dryer always seems to eat the other one of. At some point you'll have to buy a pack of underwear or socks but there are Walmarts everywhere. If you're traveling with a buddy split up the whose taking what tool list so you're not both loaded down.
Worst case scenario you could mail some of your stuff home to make space using usps flat rate boxes
Uh, just make sure it's not the stuff you road across Texas in August with. And don't seal them up in a zip lock bag. And put a note for the OL to "open with caution". Don't ask me how I know this stuff.
