Brand new RC Components 26" wheel, 13" floating rotor and single PM 6-piston caliper, stock handlebar MC on a '09 Roadie . Lever pulsated from the get go. Know have 700 miles on it and pulsating still there. Pulsated from the very start. Rotor looks good with no high or low spots from pads rubbing. Brake seemed to bleed just fine. Stops OK but not great. All parts were bought new. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Interested in some opinions myself. I have a 2012 SG that has done this from day one & the service department claims they can't fill it, when they ride it & see no issues. All braking component are 100% stock.
Sounds like a warped rotor. You will not see the actual warping. I would try to get some warranty support if possible. If not definitelly buy another brand.
2010 UC Limited and I've had the same issue. 3 different dealerships have looked at it and measured the rotor runout. "not at the limit yet"
I have noticed that the front forks shake like crazy, set at a stop light with the engine running and have the front brake released and then apply the front brake and notice the shacking in the bike from the shaking of the engine harmoics transfered to the front.
I was wondering if my front brake pulse has some related issue to this harmonic.
I am a master auto tech and know for a fact that this is not a ABS actuation as one dealer claimed. One honest dealer in the next state agreed with me that it's there but they said the rotor is not out of spec for a warrantable replacment. I was wanting to pay for one some time to see if it helps. Last year at the blue ridge parkway, it drove me crazy coming down the mountians.

Sounds like the same issue & I don't even have ABS. So I say its safe to rule that out.
Any other thoughts? My rotor & caliper are brand new. Pulsated from the very start with no mileage. Can't be heat warpage with zero miles. Both RC Components and Performance Machine components are among the best. Thanks.

All HDs and Buell bikes will shake more when you lock the front brake while stopped and idling. When you lock the front brake, you prevent the rotation of the front tire from absorbing some of the vibration. Sportsters, Dynas, heck - even the little Buell Blasts do this.
are the wheel brgs in right, adjusted, ect, (not sure which brgs are in the rc components wheel, I assume they are the sealed ones) if the wheel has side play you will get the pulsation. after that you need to mount a dial indicator so you can read runout on the rotor to diag. the problem
