My bike had 69,000 miles on it. I didn't notice smoke but could have been and nobody I ride with said anything about smoking. Leakdown showed ring leakage at around 35-40% I think majority of problems was the head and valve guide though

OK. New cam adjusters, new lifters, new push rods, same noise at 2000rpm. the best description is valve noise like on a lugging engine but only above 2000rpm.
Any advise? Thanks.

Mine has always done it. They tell me it is normal, I did the 107 kit with different pushrods, lifters, and cams. same noise. Doesn't seem to affect anything.

Rockers might need to be centered or shimmmed. The tolerances in the rocker boxes are so damn huge, it's a wonder any are ever quiet.
I've seen a loose baffle in slip ons sound like valve train noise too, believe it or not.

I am a very recent convert to Red Line V-Twin 20W-60 engine oil. My experience agrees with many others who have reported quieter engine operation after the change.

They make noise, it is not abnormal, I have a 99 EG Standard with 40k, the tensioners were changed by the dealer before I bought it and asked about the noise, everything checked out fine.
