Default Header installation question

Installed a header and I do not have a service manual for 2012 Touring bikes. I referred back to my old 2003 Touring service manual for torqueing measurements. The service manual said 60-80 inch lbs for the head bolts, so I went 70 inch lbs. Is this about right? Thanks

09:

Tighten the exhaust system as follows:
a. Tighten the top nut of the front cylinder head exhaust
flange to 9-18 in-lbs (1-2 Nm). Tighten the bottom
nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm). Final tighten
the top nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm).

b. Tighten the bottom nut of the rear cylinder head
exhaust flange to 9-18 in-lbs (1-2 Nm). Tighten the
top nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm). Final tighten
the bottom nut to 100-120 in-lbs (11.3-13.6 Nm).

the torque spec for the tranny end cover bolts os now 25 ft lbs. check these esp. the 2 bolts that hold the exhaust mount.

Need to tighten/torque these in sequence to ensure the gaskets seat:
- Tighten top nut on front cyl 9-18 in/lb.
- Tighten bottom nut on front cyl 100-120 in/lb.
- Tighten top nut on front cyl 100-120 in/lb.
- Tighten bottom nut on rear cyl 9-18 in/lb.
- Tighten top nut on rear cyl 100-120 in/lb.
- Tighten bottom nut on rear cyl 100-120 in/lb.

Ride for 50 miles, let cool & re-torque all to 100-120 in/lb.

How did you get a socket and a torque wrench on those nuts. I haven't ever been able to use my torque wrench on only 2 of the 4 nuts.

No disrespect to iceman and mike but I go by feel on those bolts and never had to worry about under- torquing. I dont trust a torque wrench for bolts like those as theres a world of hurt if you snap those off!

I use a Snap-On 1/2 sae x 3/8 drive mid-well thinwall flex socket, they run right around $55, but it works perfect on upper and lower exhaust nuts, never had a problem using this setup with a torque wrench and 6 inch extention.
