Can anyone tell me where I can buy a used intercom kit and necassary hardware to install on my on my 2009 Electra Glide Standard? From what my my dealer told me I need the HD radio and intercom kit. Of course brand new this stuff is pretty steep.
I got the OEM radio, speakers, intercom kit, cb module, handlebar switch assemblies, ultra audio harness all off of ebay. Took a while to get everything, and you must wait for good deals. Research what each items cost new from the discount internet dealers to judge how much you should pay for used, and have patience. Best of luck in your search.
If you want it "right Now", you will pay the price. But if you are willing to search and find the deals, you can build the system you want for 1/3 the price. That is what I did for my '09. It took me 2 years to get the set up the way I wanted, but I would put it up against any Ultra set up. Plus, I have my intercom set up with the Ultra dash for me and the detachable set up for the Tour Pak. I still have the rear speakers. But they have plugs that can be hidden when I remove the TP. My CB and radio antennas hidden inside my fairing. I think I spent a total of about $200. (Including the CB and rear speakers)
Just take your time and don't rush. The deals are out there. You must search. They don't just show up. They are hidden so regular searches don't find them. Like I said. Take your Time. Good luck.
To help identify what you'll need, you can download the installation instructions from HD's website for two kits offered by HD: p/n's 77107-09, and 77108-09.
