I'm getting quite a bit a clashing when shifting up. Not all the time but more then i would like. Any ideas as to why and should shift my shifting pattern? (clashing as in not getting good clean shift)
Steve in Ct
I doubt that it would be fluid level related unless you have a leak, and I doubt it would be a clutch adjustment as the clutch adjustment normally changes over time to incomplete engagement rather than incomplete disengagement (and you can shift without even using the clutch if you wanted to).
I'd suggest to try shifting a little more aggressively. Don't be timid. And I'm not talking about trying to break the lever off with your toe, but your shifting should be a firm and positive action.
I have noticed shifts to be not quite as crisp occasionally if I'm just daydreaming along and don't hit the shifter firmly enough.
Try it. You may just be shifting it a little too gingerly.
