My 2002 fuel injected Road King is running like crap as soon as it warms up. It starts running on one cylinder, and that one is missing pretty bad. The codes that come up are PPU, and 82883...
Any ideas why my problem(s) my lie?
The bike only has 23,000 miles on the clock.
Also check the fuel line that's in the tank. It rubs and can get pinholes in it. Mine was running like crap and turned out to be the intake gaskets. Spent 2.5 hours at my local indy before diagnosis and then 1.5 hours to swap em out. Got out for $100 total!
Engine temp sensor? (right behind the horn)
CPS - crank position sensor
Plug wires.
If it is your fuel lines...the problem will occur as your fuel in the tank gets low.
Might want to change your fuel filter.
Also....vibration can cause the fuel injector connections to come off or break internally.
Those codes do not look familiar. If you know someone with a Power Vision....they can plug it into your bike and get the codes pretty easily, present and history.
Otherwise, search how to get codes for the 88TC your year....it's on the forum.
hope this helps...
Post what you find out...thanks.
