Looking for a air ride system for my 2010 streetglide. I am putting on bad dad stretched rear fender and 4 1/2" inch stretched saddlebags. I want to be able to slam the bike as low as possible without hitting fender or bags while parked but also be able to raise it enough to have reasonable clearance while riding. Have looked at Legend, Arnott, Hi-Lo. Most don't offer no more than about 2 3/4" of adjustability. I found one set offered by alley rat customs that offers 5" but I don't know anything about them. Can't find any technical info. Any help would be appreciated. By the way I have a 21" wheel on front and 17" on back with 200mm tire, no lowering on front so far.
I'm running the Arnott air ride on my 10 SG... for approx $600 I'm real happy... I went with air ride for the same basic reason you are, went with streched bags and fender... so far as long as I have the shocks all the way up while riding I have not road rashed my bags. I have only put about 500 miles on with this system but so far I like the ride as well. Also running a 21" front, 17/200 on the rear... my front is lowered 1". Good luck!
I just finished putting together an air ride system like the infamous dragin bagger system. I checked for tire rub at full compression and also the exhaust contact at full extension. It is very close but was able to make it work without any contact. The ride is awsome. I can not say if it would work with your tire and bag combination though.
Which ever you get just get yourself an air pressure gauge for it, it will help to always find the sweet spot for comfort. Don't know about a 5 " drop. The arrnotts were good enough drop for me. Do a search on them here.
I have Arnott on my SG and on my Vrod. They are great quality and they offer great customer service should you have issue. An air pressure gauge will offer you nothing because your air pressure changes depending on whether or not you are sitting on the bike as well as the outside temp.

I couldnt agree more with this! I didnt order the gauge at first... took it to Bike Week and wished I had one after the first 2 days... as soon as I got home I ordered one.
