I have an 07 swing arm which I am told uses a 1" rear axle. I also have an 08 swing arm which I was told on this forum would not fit becuse the 08's have 25mm alxes. Now I'm thinking it's the 09's that have the 25mm axles and that 2000 thru 2008 use 1" rear axles. Can anyone shed any light on this? Are the 09's 25mm and support wider wheels than the 08's and prior.
08's used the 25mm axle. I would assume the swingarm would be the same for 07 and 08, but I do not know for sure. For sure 09 and up is much different, and wider.
The '07 is 1", the '08 is 25mm but be careful if not buying new and not ordering with a part number. The CVO model used a wider swingarm in '07 & '08, therefore the length of the axle will be longer but I'm not sure of each CVO model years diameters.
The '09 has a 25mm diameter and also is 1 1/2" longer and uses the same camplate & nut. The part number of the '09 axle is 41056-09.
I used the '09 axles and '10 Ultra wheels on my '07 by widening the stock '07 swingarm. It was a rather easy conversion but be aware that one of the issues I had to face was the rather large amount of play using a 25mm axle in the '07 openings of the swingarm. Thats a story in itself.
If anyone is interested how to do this conversion:
