none of us were there, easy to point fingers after the fact. it is what it is & you went down also sounds like you are learning from it too.
Thanks man. Yeah things happen and I am very fortunate it was not worse, it easily could have been.
If the advice were simple like you should have been more alert to the incoming traffic from the onramp and such I get it.. But these dudes acting like they know me and think I am some squid who doesn't have a clue how to ride are out of line. You want to write a book about situational awareness, panic stops, avoiding cagers etc. then write a book, maybe somebody who is interested will buy it.
I will be doing more practicing over the next couple of weeks to make sure I can safely come to a grinding halt if necessary and make improvements to my bike to ensure that I have better rearward visibility than I currently have. I will not be caught off guard like that again. That is for sure.
Funny thing is I bet most who have given me their advice with their condescending tone probably couldn't make it through that canyon on a touring bike and most certainly couldn't keep up with me on it.
