Default 09 to 2012 headers

Will the stock head pipe from an 09 sg fit on an 2012 limited? Since I'm using a pcv that just has you disconnect the o2 sensors I would just plug them on the 09 header. Swapping them would eliminate the cats without the hassle of gutting and flow better.

It will work. I don't know if you will get more flow with a stock bike, but there will definitely be less heat. Make sure it's not from a CVO or California bike because they had a cat in 09.

The problem you'll have is that the size of the O2 sensor is smaller on the 09' than on 10' and later. It can be done, but you'll either have to drill and re-weld larger bungs on the 09' pipe or change the sensors on the newer bike. This is not recommended.

Since I'm using a PCV I would just not install any O2 sensors and plug the holes.

Stock exhaust is not as good as tuned exhaust in terms of performance but stock exhaust without cats is better than exhaust with cats. All depends on what you expect for your efforts.

Contrary to popular belief the CAT doesn't really restrict flow.

I'm not wanting to by headers yet. But I do have the stock ones from my 09 just sitting around.

They will work, just use your pcv. You can also use autotue later, the 09 header has the bungs in the right place for autotune.

Oh yes they do, and they're made out of aluminum. They get more restrictive as they get hot.
