Default 2011 FLHTK Aluminum Wheels

What's the best/easiest/fastest way to clean 'em up to a nice shine again? Looking for an easy way out --- don't wanna be spending 2 hours cleaning wheels when I could be ridin'!

Easy if you have a lift. Then it's just old fashioned soap and water with a good washing sponge, followed up with one of those round bristled brushes (with the rubber tip) for the "spoke" holes.

It takes me about 10 minutes per wheel to do them right.

+1 That was going to be my question. Also, major difference in cleaning materials from Aluminum to Chrome

Only if the alloy picks up some corrosion, then a bit of Mothers or Simichrome is in order. If you keep after them this will not be a problem.

So you are going to remove the "thin layer of chrome" to polish the aluminum??? The only part of the wheel that is not chrome is between the spokes and that is gloss black.

I have the Limited Wheels on my Classic, and I find them super easy to keep clean,Nothing has stuck to them yet,in 35000 miles.I've never waxed them, the only thing I use on them is the HD Tire and Wheel Cleaner and a soapy sponge.

A fleece type washing mitt does well. Soap and water only for me.

And a leaf blower to dry

I had the aluminum ones on mine and gave up. Bought agitators. Much easier to keep clean.
