Ive used the search feature and not found an answer. Im 5'9" but I have a short inseam. I have the 2012 street glide. I need a couple of inches lower. I need some thrifty suggestions. So far I've ordered a 1" rear suspension lowering kit for cheap and I'm thinking of a new seat. I'm almost flat footed but I need to get low to handle this monster.
What else are you going to try? My wife has a 2012 Street Glide and wants to go at least an inch lower (after switching out seats). I hear that the front lowering kid (front goes down 1" ... but at seat, its more like only 0.5" drop) may make the ride pretty stiff. I'm trying to figure out lowering kits for the shocks (rebuild shock, replace shock or bracket to lower existing shock). I don't want to screw up the 'ride' (at least overly badly).
I sent my seat into Mean City Cycles and got the Super Narrow job done on it. I didn't want to move forward, just down - and they came through. I guess the big thing is how they narrow out the seat so you have more legs to reach the ground. I find the seat super comfortable and I am VERY glad I did it I found getting this done left me even lower then when I bought the Bare Bones seat. I don't think you can find a seat as narrow as what they can do with the stock seat.
No it's not a statement when you narrow your seat it's going to give you the same affect as lowering it.
I understand that, my english must be off though because I don't see a question mark or any place to put one. What was the question? See, now that is a question.
