great numbers. There are lot of variables in MPG. Riding style, Type of gas and what part of the country your in, are just a few. I hope it keeps up good luck.
[/ quote] I've reached back with my hand, and it was scorching hot... I'm guessing they just did a stage 1 flash with the SERT, which is really lean.
It's so hot she won't ride till its fixed.
Yer a lucky man, My gal is the same way !........LOL.[/QUOTE]
The problem is we enjoy riding together. Id rather ride with her than solo...
Normally I love great mileage numbers, but when it's on a bike that isn't suppose to get that, and the motor/exhaust air that's reaching her feet is that hot, cheaper to get it tuned right and make the motor last than burn it up, the savings in mileage won't cover the cost of a rebuilt because of it running so lean lol!!
Glad you like it. No disrespect but Im going to call BS on a 50+mpg average riding 2 up. Even on the flat terrain of FL I struggle to average 40+MPG solo. Im not afraid to hammer the throttle but still 51-53 two up seems a bit remarkable.
Actually I've got friends with stock bikes and they get over 50mpg pretty much all the time on the highway. When my bike was stock it would get around 50 highway as well. Now with the 106 it gets 45 on the highway. With 107hp/115tq I don't mind losing a few mpg. The smiles per gallon are much higher now.
Sounds like your really enjoying the new bike, I can say I never got that good of mileage on my Electra Glides. AS far the Gold wingers I have several friends that ride them and been with me on many iron butts. I learned to not say much and just try to keep up. Those 1800 gold wings hall *** day after day and have had my limited breathing hard many times just trying to keep up !

Agreeded ! It's great to have good mileage but comfort and motor functionality is most important.
Yep, don't know what you came off of, but usually guys coming off of the little HDs to the Ultras have quite an awakening.
I had three touring bikes, but never was able to get much over 45 mpg. Enjoy your new bike.
ps...Might want to lay off the Wingers, their self esteem is already pretty low.

I think it just depends on where you live Joe. I routinely get around 50 out here in the west. Really thin air about 8% humidity right now and it seems like the whole state is on fire but the bikes get great mileage. Mine has the Rhineharts, FuelMoto setup and PV and I still get 50 a lot of tanks but always 48-49 riding single.
