I have an '07 RG with a 103" BB kit in it, V&H True Duals and 22Kmi. The crank runout is bad and thought about trading to a new one but I like this one and can't see spending 15K to trade and make changes on a new one. So it is in my indy's shop getting an S&S crank, Woods TW6-6 cams, new bearings and a T-Max with autotune that Jamie at FM preprogammed for me. Hopefully I will be picking it up today!!!

You're the first that I've heard who installed the 255's in a 107. What is your static CR? Have you measured CCP? Do you have a dyno chart you could post?

Bumped mine to 103 with Andrews 54H and a tune by Jamie at Fuel Moto, that was done 15,000 miles ago. Consistant 39-40mpg, runs great.

My 09 Ultra was upgraded at 20K to the Big Bore 103 Kit and Rineharts with SE filter and sert tune, dynoed. The 255s are perfect for low end torque and two up touring. Just make sure you get a good tune. Note the changes some of the others mentioned when you build it. All good advice. My motor makes 85 hp and 100 torque. Cams are job specific when you think about it. What do you want to do with your bike?

The 255's are great cams for the 103. Especially in a touring bike.

That's your opinion. I never said they would not work but read all the available info about cranking pressure, etc.
There are better cams.

There is no best cam. It depends on many factors what cam would work best for any application.

103 Big Bore with cast, flat top pistons and Andrews 48, 57 or Tman 555 Torqsters will give you good pull to redline and wont sacrifice anything on the bottom end if you use a .027 head gasket and have it tuned properly. Compression releases won't be necessary but they arent a bad idea...

All Great Ideas.Do u have to use Comp releases on the 103 kit w/255's?I don think my friend has them.Where the auto releases located when installed?By the plugs?I still might just do the cam's fr now till winter. To answer the question on i what out of the bike,More low end and midrange for 1 up or 2 up riding.I love power, but i dont want to over board plus i'm on a budget.I would like to change head pipes to help with the heat also.My oil temp has never went over 268deg and that was in a const zone standing still for 20 min at 84deg out .

I think you will be happy just doing the 255's. I have a 96 with FM stage 1 and installed 255's this winter and it is a pleasure to ride. 2up through the hills of TN are no problem. No starting issues. It is all I need and it was simple to do myself and very cost effective. Made the bike a great touring bike for me. No regrets. Not into max performance, just a good reliable touring bike. Give it a try, I think it will be all you need. You will need a new tune, don't know much about the FP, but I am sure it can be adjusted for the new cams. If you do the work yourself, the cost is minimal.
