Great tips....I did mine and it came out great. I started the job with alcohol bit it left a white haze on the reflective part of the headlamp. I used soap amd water and I was back in the game. Moved on to the passing lamps and ended up letting these dry in the sun after I did my best to wipe inside and remove all water. The end result is fantastic! I am pleased with the results. So glad I did this because the front light was bugging me with that hazy look, it was basically this wat when I bought it brand new. Now it shines...

I, too, have used the rubbing alcohol. I swished some around in there, then swished around a very light solution of Dawn dish soap, ... the went back to alcohol, then rinsed the **** out of it with plain water. Then... final rinse with distilled water or water filtered by a RO system.

I let them air dry and really did looked better than new.

I did NOT touch anything inside with anything. Just let the water, alcohol, etc do their job. No air compressor either... too much crap can get blown out along with the air.

Here's another 'trick' I have found that works on bugs... take hydrogen peroxide and put some in a windex bottle. Right before you are going to clean the bike, spray the hydrogen peroxide all over the head light, passing lamps, fairings, fork tubes etc... and let it all sit for 5-10 minutes... THEN wash the bike. Works GREAT

Fill 1/4 way with crushed ice, add alcohol. Swish around for a few minutes. Dump out ice/alcohol. Refill with alcohol to remove remaining moisture, pour out let dry. Someone showed me that using ice to clean a container than you cannot get you hands into works. He showed me this on a commercial glass coffee canister that I was trying to clean, he said this is how they cleaned them at their family's restrauant. Works

I don't have any rubbing alcohol, can I use beer instead? Nevermind, that's alcohol abuse. Out to the garage I go because I have the same problem. Thanks for the good tips!!!!

When do you guys start seeing this haze appearing? how many miles, how old is your bike?

I have a 2010 RK with alomst 20,000 miles. No haze forming in my lenses that I can see.

Thanks for the reply. I've starred at mine for several minutes and do not see any haze forming, but thanks to this thread, I'll start watching for it.

Thanks for the clean up tips as well.

Second on the distilled water. I also use this on the inside of my cars windshield. We all know what a PIA that can be.
