Default Tour Pack lock

I think the TP lock is flimsy. Seems you could open latches then grab the lid in the back and rip it open. Any more secure options? Possible to install locks at both latches? Would that help?

It's a motorcycle, not a Brinks truck. The locks and latches on the bike are there to DETER theft, not prevent it by making it impossible. If someone wants into a tourpack or saddlebag, a hammer would do the trick. No lock or latch is going to prevent it. Locks just keep honest men honest.

Yeah, there's no other options that I've ever heard of. Like jimharvey1 said, I'd only ever treat it as a deterent. I've never had anyone mess with it, but I still always carry my crap in at night when I'm traveling (back when I had a Tour-Pak).

Locks are there to keep your friends out.

With the oem hinges all that's needed to break in are two torx drivers. It's not a bank vault. The lock is the same one that comes on mail boxes and such.

Sure it is possible to install another keyed alike latch at the back end of the tour pack.
My tour pack will close and both latches will catch, but after a few miles down the road the rear one pops off??? So I had thought of possible ways to secure it better.
Without trying to figure out why the latch pops, I thought it would be an idea to install the locking mechanism to the rear of the pack as well.
I have seen a couple of bikes where this had been done.
Not sure if it would help me with situation.
As mentioned locks and chains and alarm systems keep honest people from snooping.

No matter how many locks you install, all one would need is a pry bar to bust the lid open.
