We looked at doing a 4 channel but there were a few reasons why it didnt make sense for this kit. The Maxxbass feature on the amp makes the rider think bass is coming from all 4 speakers even though the feature is in the amplifier only. The current demand from the bike stays very low by using the radios power to run the rears. By using the radios power for the rears, I could hear CD's clearly at 90mph while riding behind bikes. If your on your bike goin faster than that--you need to be looking out for Mack trucks--not worryin about your stereo Also--We felt it was more reliable to have the radios power at the back of the biike instead of an "amplified pair" sitting there if the tour pak is off.
Sonn as you add the second set of speakers, the volume doubles--and it works real good. As a company, iy MAY have been a mistake to promote Ultrasound as a rear speaker kit only, it really is a complete system overhaul
When we "update" the 2006 radio (download the new software from HD), we in fact "re-flash" it, so I think if the rear speakers is detected, they will be enable by the DIY re-flash, am I correct?
in that case, if it true, we dont need to pay extra money to activate the rear output on 2006 radio. can anyone confirm this?
