Nice setup.

I see you have lowers, I did a similar setup and put my ipod shuffle in the "glove box" with a velcro backing running the cable down to it following the crash bar doing the same thing to keep it clean. I am not worried about changing songs since I like all the music I have on my shuffle and just set it to shuffle play lists so I do not get bored with the same style of music.

I thought about putting it in the glove box, but I just have too much crap I keep in there so I just mounted it on the switch housing. I don't switch songs either for I have my play lists also. I just keep the i pod on the bike all the time for I purchased it just for the bike anyways. I just remove it if I'm parked somewhere and away from the bike. I never thought I would like a stereo on a bike before but now I could not imagine not having one. The stereo is stock and it is fine for me, I thought about doing some upgrades but decided against it. I refuse to dump anymore money at her.......

I first thought about a touring bike because of the cruise control. Now it's the only time I listen to music.
Sports talk only in the truck.

Since you like doing things on the cheap and easy, you can add an ear buds headphone jack by tying into your speakers and connecting an iPod 3.5 jack....and still being able to use your handlebar controls and AVC.
It will be a better system than any amp and speakers you could add and only spend about $40.
(I've had the Hawg Wired and Biketronics systems)

I got these at Radio Shack:
3.5mm male and bare speaker wire

Double 3.5mm female

I got this over the internet (in black) (eBay):

If you don't have the heat shields you can use this:

Or just stick it out one of your fairing holes.
I did find them all in black but it takes some looking because usually waterproof/marine grade are white.

You are welcome, I have the mechanical ability of your average 5 year old so I was happy of the outcome. It’s because of this forum that I started to attempt little mods like this, so I figured if I can help someone like me out there that’s on the fence I will. For most people this mod is so easy why post it but for some like me it really helps especially if you have no desire or skill to take the whole damn 20K bike apart…
