Default 2" lower Monotubes...Mistake???

Just got done installing a set of lowering monotubes on my 07 EG, and they look great with the 21" front wheel and the wrap fender, but standing back and looking there is not alot of room left above the fender. Am I going to crash the fender?? I wouldn't have tried it with a spring lowering kit but I know there are alot of people who have gone 2" with monotubes. I can already tell they are not at all spongy like the dampening rod set up so maybe they will be ok, just looking for some input from others with the same set up. I know there are other threads about lowering monotubes and I've read most of them before I bought these, just second guessing my choice of lowering heights 1" or 2"

Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I'm going to go ahead and give it a shot. Weather here is crappy so I don't know when I'll get to go for a test ride. Maybe a trip around the block between storms.

You'll be fine...looks like you have a similiar fender as mine. Also, technically you're not really down 2" because the larger wheel brings you back up over 1/2".

To answer my own question 2" lower with monotubes = mistake.....YES

Made it till went for a 2 up ride today. Was being very cautious as I was still wondering how this was going to work. Went to pull in gas station were their was about a 6" step up to drive in their parking lot and bang.... No dents but made a chip in the paint where it met the crash bar. Not bad enough for me to repaint just for that but I'll always know it's there.

Don't want to hear any told ya so's, but for anybody going to try this be VERY careful, may get away with it if your not running a crash bar, but didn't work for me.

I'm going to the new Harley front springs next week.
anyone want to purchase some slightly used mono tubes, $70 you pay the shipping!
