I'll give it a try but I believe the leak is coming from the drain bolt. Thanks.

OK then.....pull the plug. Drain the fluid into a clean drain pan....make sure you got all of the old o ring out from the very first pull.Look up with a mirror into the hole. Make sure to replace this o ring with a new hd o ring. Don't listen to anyone telling you to buy your own o rings in home depot etc....put a new hd o ring on the plug all the way down the shaft of the plug into the groove and you should be good.

That's what I was going to suggest. The two bolts that hold the header below the tranny cover has been known to leak if the bolts are not in tight. The last time I removed my header I took those two bolts out and locktite them and torqued. I suggest you pull your header away enough to pull those two bolts out and do the same then check it in a couple days.

I did replace the o ring with a HD o ring when I changed the fluids but I didn't examine it really well when I took it off so there is a chance some part of it is still hanging around. I'll take your suggestion. It'll probably wait until next weekend but I'll post when I have the results.

Thank you.

While I'm at it I'll go ahead and do this too... Thanks again.

Having the very same problem on my 09 Electra glide classic. I'll be looking at the two Allan screws that are holding the exhaust bracket on. I was convinced that is where the leak was. Glad to know I was right.

Although a first impression looking at this photo would lead you to believe the drain plug is leaking, it is nowhere near conclusive. The drain plug is simply the lowest point of the transmission and any leak will eventually find its way to the drain plug.

Clean the entire area, take it for a short ride, and then inspect. You need to find the actual origination point of the leak. Just seeing oil at the lowest point, i.e., the drain plug is really inconclusive.

I agree that the two lower side cover bolts at the exhaust bracket are the most likely culprit. I'm not saying that's the leak for certain, just that is a very common and likely area to leak.

I will second this, I had a leak on my 09 and my mechanic said there was a bulletin on this and they increased the torque on the hanger bolts.
