Oil leaks out of this sensor or wire that lead to a sensor on the front left side of the motor. My question is what are these wires to and how to fix the leak.

The crank sensor is on top portion of the picture, where you have the leak is the stator plug. I would clean it up and seal it with rtv sealant. I would not trash a good stator because the plug was leaking.

I think I'll try this first since it is the easiest and no sense in replacing something that isn't broke.
Is the stator in oil or is it just splashed with oil? I always thought the stator was dry (knock on wood) I've never replaced one.
