Glowing red hot
Not having owned a Harley before, and never really looking for something like this on my other bikes -is this normal? If not --- then what?
You didn't say if the bike has stock pipes, but if it has mufflers/baffles you might also check to make sure that they aren't plugged with some little critters nesting material or dislodged packing/insulation. This would cause a backup in the exhaust pressure in that pipe, resulting in an overheating pipe/s as well.
As far as I know the chirp and the red pipe are two separate issues. I noticed the pipe while looking for the chirp. I noticed the chirp for the first time today. I put a taller shield on for my ride today so maybe this has been going on for a bit and I did not hear it due to a smaller windshield and the radio. I have have the bike for 1500 miles and do not remember hearing this before. It sounds like it is coming from the front left of the bike but with wind noise who knows.
Bike if FI so carb settings are not an issue. As far as I know bike is stock and no remapping has ever been done.
By rubber mounts under bags I assume you mean the ones attaching the pipes? I jiggled the pipes around without hearing anything but some silicone spray is worth a try.
I let the bike run for a while. Occasionally revving to 3k and holding it there for less than a minute at a time This was not constant. I noticed the pipe only glowed after the bike was revved for a while but can not see how this would be any different that just riding.
Thanks for helping with all of this.

Push dpwn on the tops of the saddlebags and see if the chirping stops.
Run some WD 40 on the outside (only the outer edge) of the drive belt to see if the chirping stops, ( assuming it only happens when moving.)

I'll let you guys know if there is an improvement tomorrow. Makes sense on the pipes hot because of no air. If the cigarette lighter craps out at least I will know how to light one..............
