When mine cracked I thought I would have no problem finding a take-off at the dealer but no luck. While I was trying to decide between the Fulsac and the V&H Classic Duals I finally decided to make a significant change and went with a black Thunderheader 2-1. Looks badazz, sounds badazz, runs great.
If you bought the ESP it is covered. The Y pipe is comon for breaking after the front motor mount. like someone else said.
I Wonder when H-D came out with the Improved front motor mount?
We put the Fulsac on my 05. not bad for a couple hundred bucks
I had the new mount on my '03 for a year when my 'Y' pipe cracked and started popping in the exhaust, chose not to weld it and replaced the pipes as once tempered/work hardened by time and the heat/cool of running the bike they will embrittle, would have to go pretty extreme for weld and peen or stress relieve to keep from it cracking again, not worth the trouble.
Have relced my pipes with a Khrome Werks variant to the newer style of pipes, there are other options, Bassani, V&H and others for true duals or you can buy late model take off, replace the oil pan with a new style and install the current style pipes. I lost about 5 degrees of right turn lean for cornering with these.
The Y pipe on my 08 ultra cracked. What are people doing to fix this are they putting oem parts back on or stepping up to dual exhaust? I have oval vance and hines slip-ons.
Weld it up and run it, these headers are perf engineered well, May want to rmove it to weld it to lower the risk of "cookin" electrical components on bike and keep slag spatter off the bike.
