Sort of like riding with a wet tee-shirt I suspect, except there is a membrane to keep the wetness off your skin.

 

I have one and although it does keep you cool, it feels like you are wrapped in a wet towel..I don't like it, feels kind of gross to me....

 

Wet tee shirt??? I'll have to pass this on to the local women's riding club....

 

Texas Cool Vest is much better but cost much more. There are 4 packet of this stuff that freezes in ice water, you put them in the vest and they keep you cool. I have only worn mine once but it was real nice not having a soaking wet shirt and the top portion of my jeans wet. Friday we head to Colorado from Texas when it will get a good testing heading through desert heat. I wear a fishing style long sleeve shirt over the vest.

 

www.veskimo.com offers a vest that comes with a cooler you fill with ice water and pumps cold water around you for not much more than the vest you mentioned. While it may not be for everyone, a good friend of mine has one because he had a heat stroke last year and without it he can't ride in the summer.

Me and my wife along with another couple are leaving this Friday from the Dallas area for Colorado as well.

 

Veskimo is the poop. But salty around bones . I work for a glass mfg and it is 140 in the forming area our crews wear them and they are effective very portable
