I have a 2010 Road King with 103 juggs, V&H true dual uppers, Rhinehart mufflers, upgraded ECM and heavy breather. I bought the bike new in 2010 with these upgrades from the HD dealer. I just got back from a 3700 mile ride and noticed that the exhaust pipe from the front cylinder was brown/rusty colored on the inside and the back cylinder was gray/black. The bike has 13,500 miles and this is the first time I have noticed this brown/rusty color inside the exhaust pipe (usually gray/black). What could be causing this? I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Now when you say on the inside, your referring to the inside of the tailpipe correct? It's not showing the same coloration as the other side, which is gray black. Can you get down behind it and take a pic of it so we can see what your seeing? I have the stock pipe minus the catalyst and it's pretty much even (understandably so). I do notice however, when the bike warms up I get condensation spiting from the right side only. It's difficult to know which piston is emitting condensation because of the 2-1-2 header. I suggest that one of the pistons is generating condensation during warm up and it is most evident on true duels which piston that is. Why only one, I do not know but perhaps someone in the know can explain it to us.

I noticed this too. I think what we are seeing here during initial startup is that the moisture in the muffler is emitting "steam" as the exhaust gases are hotter than the ambient temperature in the muffler. As the muffler heats up all the moisture inside it and the baffle or catalyst is driven out. This is pretty common in the spring when temps are cooler. Seldom see it in the hot summer months. Less exhaust gasses come out the left side muffler so the right side would heat up quicker and show more condensation. I would chalk it up to being normal. My previous bike had straights, as in no mufflers, and it did not exhibit this at all.
