Got a bud that is having volume issues with his brand new HD iPod interface (2012 SG). It will only come up to maybe 1/3 volume when you have it wide open. If you switch to the radio or disc it will easily rattle the speakers at 3/4 volume. The dealer said all of the 2012's are having this problem.
My advice to him was to take it back to the dealer, have it removed and get a refund.
Anybody else having volume issues with their 2012's?

Low volume through HDs iPod interface is an ongoing issue.
I use my Ipod in my IPhone, and I have found that if my volume on the Iphone is down, then the volume through the stereo is down.
The HD Interface doesn't run through the auxillary input so iPod volume has no affect on the volume of the head unit. The interface is designed to deliver line level that is then amplified by the HK head.
Thanks anyway.

Tell him to turn off "Sound Check" on the iPod. It averages the sound levels. So if he wants headbanger music to be loud, turn off sound check, or his heavy metal will be at the same level as his Enya tunes .

Do you folks at Iron Cross have a solution? Or maybe some advice?
He's pretty frustrated with the dealer's shoulder shrugging (they're all doing it) and I can't blame him.

Sorry, we don't.
We get a few calls a week regarding this.
Based on the dealers response, they're aware of it also.
Shameless plug...
The module we sell had the audio output paid particular attention to so as to avoid this issue.
