Experience with headers
I used a 2009 catless head pipe & SE air cleaner on my 2010FLHTK. bought the PC-V and dyno-tuned 3.5" slip-ons from Fuelmoto and have been very pleased with the result. Seems as cool as my previous bike (2003 FLHTC). Wife thinks it's a lot cooler on her as well. (also added Kuryakyn adjustable passenger pegs so she can move here leg positions, which helps alot)
I removed the cat and run my stock header. Big reduction in heat ! and you might gain an extra hp or two plus a little louder. The CC restricts more sound than flow, but creates ALOT of heat...that's what burns off the hydrocarbons.
One big added improvement for my passenger was to extend the passenger boards out 1" which keeps her foot and leg cooler and is a more comfortable position as well.

I don't know if they make the Kuryakyn for your year of bike ? If they do, I think they put the boards extend out some. Her's a link anyway.... http://www.powersportsuperstore.com/...tm?Click=35177

If they would have been available, a ceramic coated exhaust would have been my first choice back when I changed mine. In my hot rods they make at least two worlds of difference in under-hood temps. Wouldn't surprise me if they do the same for bikes.
As far as the 2 into 1 - 2 into 2 issue goes, my experience is that it's all up to the tune tech. If he's biased towards 2-1's you're wasting your time using him to tune a 2-2. He'll likely tell you you'll get gobs more power with the 2-1, which just isn't true...it's just the system he's used to tuning.

Just a "thank you" to all who responded. I called Jamie and had a good talk, about his header's and the FM PCV. I decided to go with the FM ceramic coated 2-1-2's and I can't wait to get 'em! Twelve weeks is a while, but I am looking forward to learning all I can about the PCV in that time. I know this forum will be a help there too!

You can't go wrong with Jamie's set up's. He will never seel you somthing that you dont need. Once you have the set up and map that Jamie sends or pre-does your in buisness. I see your in CT and there is a tuner in Wallingford (Name Escapes me) on North Plains Indutrial Park Rd. If you believe you need to have the bike Dynoed and tuned more. He is the man. Much less money then any dealer in our area.
I just bought a stock de-catted head pipe from a forum member and when it comes I will be installing. When money comes back to par I will be doing the remaining stage 1, SE A/C and Tuner.
Good Luck and Welcome to the forum.
Frank
Hey thanks ctmedic, just reading this forum and talking to Jamie I can tell I made the right choice with Fuel Moto and the PC V. I'm hoping that the fuel maps he sends will work without needing a dyno, but if necessary I've got Dr. Dyno who lives right in Stonington. He is out in Sturgis right now, but by the time I get the headers installed he should be back in town. My brother Dale has a laptop that he's willing to let me use to do the downloads, so in the meantime I'm going to experiment with the setup I have now. My thought is to use the switch feature to go from an around town AFR with plenty of power for the local riding I do with the club to a AFR that will give better fuel economy for long highway riding. If anyone has any pointers for me, I'd appreciate it.
